Recognizing that our social structures and personal biases can get in the way of commitment to respecting our colleagues and community members, this interactive workshop will engage themes of prejudice, power and privilege in a manner that honours all voices in the room while also challenging the biases and structures that privilege some over others and that damage the possibility of healthy yet diverse relationships and communities. This workshop is designed to support leaders in business, community and faith organizations as they address inclusion, diversity and equity.
This workshop attracts professionals and practitioners as a practical professional development opportunity to engage in training and conversation around the topic of equity, diversity, and inclusion. People who work in fields such as human resources, health, education, counselling, law, and social services find that this training teaches practical skills that provides tangible tools for application in their organizational and personal life. Participants in Grebel’s Conflict Management Certificate Program come from the Waterloo Region, travel from across Ontario, and attend virtually from across the globe. The program is connected with the University of Waterloo and participants may take individual workshops or work toward a certificate.
