A People’s Theology of the Church

May 8, 2024 - May 29, 2024
Wednesday, May 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2024 (2 - 3:30pm EDT)

What is the New Testament’s Vision of Our Mission and Ministry?

In this course, we will look again at what key parts of the New Testament have to say about the assemblies of Jesus’ disciples, which we call the church. We will explore what these assemblies were, what they did, and why they did it. Throughout our time together, we will ask the question: What does this mean for the issues our churches are facing today?

This four-week course, taught by Dr. Joshua Davis, will be offered via Zoom.

Meet the instructor, Josh Davis, Ph.D.

Dr. Davis has a Ph.D. in Theological Studies with a minor in Church History from Vanderbilt. He served as a professor of Systematic Theology and Ethics at General Seminary. He also taught at the University of Illinois and Loyola Institute of Pastoral Studies. At Stevenson School for Ministry, he teaches Ethics and Theology. He lives in Alabama with his wife, the Rev. Danielle Thompson, and their two children.
