In the fourth century Evagrius of Pontus said, “A theologian is one who prays and one who prays is a theologian.” This is a central concern of spiritual theology, and this seminar provides an opportunity for us to reflect on this aspect of the faith we confess and practice. Our goal is to deepen our own experience of prayer through the study of some of the prayer lives and classic writings of Christians throughout history.
NOTE: This course has a maximum enrollment of 12 students.
To get into a priority enrollment course, you must register by the early registration deadline (see Important Dates ); during the registration process, REGIS will prompt you to fill out a Priority Enrollment Course Request form online. Class lists will be determined within a week after the early registration deadline, and you will be notified by email shortly thereafter. First priority will be given to students who need a course for the program to which they have been admitted, and who have registered by the early registration deadline.
This course is being offered online only in Winter 2023. Due to the interactive nature of 700-level classes, students must attend live. No recordings of this class will be made available.
