This is our second e-course on Jesus, but it is not necessary to take the first one before doing this one. Both courses were originally designed as Lenten retreats, but they can be done any time of year.

You will receive 40 emails, each opening with a quotation about Jesus gathered from our reading of contemporary spiritual teachers, theologians, preachers, and poets. We will then give you a suggestion, based upon something in the quote, for how you can practice spirituality with Jesus during the day.

Our emphasis is on both identifying with Jesus and acting like Jesus — being Jesus to our families, our friends, our colleagues, and our world. One of the ancient church fathers, Gregory of Nyssa (c.330-395), said the goal of the spiritual life is “to have God within oneself,” to “imitate the divine nature.” For Christians — and for many people of other traditions as well — Jesus is a revelation of what God is like.

No matter what spiritual path you are on, and even if you don’t currently have a path, we believe you will enjoy exploring the qualities, attitudes, and actions that enable us to be more like Jesus in our world today.
