About this Event
The eFormation learning community is offering a 5-week online cohort for those digital leaders who seek a deeper understanding of the technologies frequently used for online ministry. The weekly sessions will be 90-minutes, focused on reflection, presenting new information and then time for questions and processing. The Rev. Jim Keat and Sarah Stonesifer Boylan will lead this experience, creating a community of openness, experimentation and learning.
Who are Jim and Sarah? Jim and Sarah have known each other for about 3 years. The intersections of their ministry come from wanting to help leaders use technology well for opportunities to deepen faith, community, and worship.
Is this cohort for me? You’re a faith leader who feels comfort in online spaces and you have a working knowledge of Facebook, Zoom, and video/audio editing. You can be lay or ordained! You can be a staff member or super volunteer. You’re ready to learn new things and apply them to your online communities. You’re not afraid to experiment, get things wrong, and learn from mistakes.
What do the 5 weeks look like? The 90-minute weekly online sessions are the main thing to focus on. The presentations from Jim, Sarah, and friends will be recorded, but not the discussion pieces around them. The 90-minutes are about the direct application to ministry and the participants’ communities. Wednesdays, February 3, 10, 24, March 3 and 10 at 3pm eastern are the scheduled face-to-face online meeting times. (note: skipping February 17th for Ash Wednesday observance)
What if I miss a session? The presentations will be recorded and there will be a Google infrastructure of resources that will be shared with everyone! Have more questions? Email [email protected]!
This cohort is limited to 35 leaders!
Please reach out if there are concerns about covering the cost of the event. We want ministries to benefit from our time together, but to not be barred by the cost. Email [email protected] for more information.
