Theme – Thin Places with our Anam Cara
Our Anam Cara (soul friend) is the one whose soul entwines with ours; who accepts us as we truly are; and who may mentor, and companion us into life’s “Thin Places”. Through the lens of the Emmaus Road story, we will reconnoitre our Anam Cara’s presence on our own spiritual journeys. The risen Christ walks the road as the Anam Cara who evokes the “Thin Place” in the breaking and blessing of the bread.
These day-long events are an opportunity to gather with others who have been part of the annual school, as well as those who would like to take a day to explore the themes and practices of Celtic spirituality in community.
The quarterly gathering can include an overnight ‘mini-retreat’. Guests can arrive the evening before the event, stay overnight in our Main Building in single or shared rooms. There is time to slow down, read or journal by the fire, meditate or pray in our interfaith prayer space, or go for a walk in the forest. The Gathering takes place between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm (check-in between 9:30 and 9:45, then 10 minutes of silence together before beginning). You can also just come for the day and not include an overnight.
