Introduction to Mindfulness & Stress Reduction

Feb. 29, Mar. 21, Apr. 4, 2016 – Participants are required to attend all three evenings.

Part of the Mindfulness & Meditation Series

Mindfulness is a way of meeting life’s challenges with greater calm and wisdom. From Anderson Cooper to Oprah to Google, everyone seems to be talking about it. But what is it really?

These introductory workshops are designed to give you a basic understanding and an experience of mindfulness.

Mindfulness promotes personal wellness on all levels of being. It is an evidence-based practice in which participants can experience:

  • greater ability to cope with daily stress
  • lasting decreases in physical and psychological symptoms
  • greater ability to learn and focus
  • enhanced interpersonal communication and relationships
  • greater energy and enthusiasm for life

These three introductory workshops involve:

An overview of mindfulness:

  • What is it?
  • How does it work?
  • How can it help me reduce stress in my personal life and in my work?
  • Guided mindfulness practices, including both seated and movement practices
  • Strategies to enhance mindful awareness in everyday life

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat, blanket and pillow.
