Maybe you’ve felt yourself leading from the extremes: hiding your true thoughts and emotions in order to keep the peace, then over-reacting to relatively small issues or problems at other points. Is “authentic leadership” just another meaningless buzzword, or can it be something bigger (and even better) than a hashtag?

When we’re separated from our values–even unconsciously–we become separate from ourselves. It takes courage to live and lead authentically.

That kind of integration takes courage. It isn’t built overnight, but it can start now.

What You’ll Learn

  • The four sets of skills inherent to daring leadership
  • Self-awareness and emotional literacy that impacts your thoughts and decisions
  • Appropriate vulnerability and the myths that keep you from authenticity
  • How your core values inform your professional life
  • The skills that guide tough conversations– including giving and receiving feedback
  • What role “meaning-making” plays in humans and the stories we tell ourselves
  • … and so much more!

CONNECT WITH GOD:

This course will provide theologically grounded spiritual practices for leadership that empower your day-to-day life as a follower of Jesus Christ

How it Works

Join our host, Rev. Sarah Ciavarri, and an engaged learning cohort of fellow faith leaders live and online!

  • Participate in eight three-hour webcast sessions

Be there–from October 21 through November 5–as Rev. Ciavarri applies groundbreaking research by Dr. Brené Brown to the area of church leadership. Based on what they learn, participants will build an integration plan for continued development after the course concludes.

  • Practice within a safe context

During the course, participants will have break-out sessions to discuss and apply what they’re learning in order to prepare for real-life situations.

  • Develop meaningful connections

Leadership never grows to its full potential inside a vacuum. The reality is, having people in your life who are walking a similar path makes the journey easier and more fulfilling. This course is a great opportunity to meet other like-minded leaders that have shared the same experience.

ONE SPECIAL NOTE

While Dare to Lead training is frequently provided in corporate settings at a significantly higher cost, we are grateful to Rev. Ciavarri’s willingness to offer this course at a fraction of the price. With that in mind, we are requesting that registration be limited to church leaders only. This includes pastors, judicatory leaders, lay leaders, church planters, bi-vocational pastors, and new, emerging, or discerning leaders. If you fall into one or more of these groups, welcome!

Additionally, due to the nature of the material presented and discussed, being in a place of relative emotional health and/or stability prior to attending this course is recommended.
