Images – often conflicting – of sin, sex and salvation are a rich seam running through both Christian tradition and the history of art.

This course will explore visual art from the Middle Ages to the present day from these thematic perspectives. It will open up art as a means to thinking about cultural representations of sin, about sex and bodies in art and religion, and about grace and salvation.

The weekend is led by Deborah Lewer, Senior Lecturer and Head of History of Art at the University of Glasgow.

Anyone with an interest in art and / or faith is very welcome.
