The Morning Star Seminar is a three day retreat for theological refreshment. The three days offer study and fellowship centred on the reading of a scripture commentary. This seminar is moderated by a Wycliffe College professor or affiliated academic.

This fall season’s seminar will be led by The Rt. Rev. Dr. Stephen Andrews Bishop of Algoma, Trustee and Alumnus of Wycliffe College, Class of ’84. After two years in London as Study Assistant to The Rev. Dr John Stott, he was ordained in the Diocese of Nova Scotia in 1986. He completed a Doctor of Philosophy in the Faculty of Divinity at Cambridge University in 1995, with a dissertation entitled ‘Ancient Interpretation of Divine Judgement in Eden (Genesis 3.14-19).’ In 2001 he was appointed President, Provost and Vice-Chancellor of Thorneloe University College in Sudbury, Ontario. He held this position until his election as Bishop of the Diocese of Algoma in 2008. As an Adjunct Faculty member, he teaches in the Joint Department of Religious Studies at Laurentian University.

Participants are encouraged to purchase Reformation Commentary on Scripture: Genesis 1-11 (ISBN 978-0-8308-2961-4) as background, in addition to a primary text – details of which will be announced soon.
