The Exposition Seminar:
The Joy of Preaching and Teaching Through Exposition of the Bible

November 4 – 6, 2015

Princeton Theological Seminary
In partnership with Earl Palmer Ministries
Erdman Center

The goal of exposition is to enable a text in the Old and New Testaments to make its own point with the whole witness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that the listener discovers the meaning for him or herself and then to affirm that message to people in the language of today.       In this seminar, pastors and teachers will explore the case for exposition of the Bible in the preaching mandate for the church of today. The New Testament book of Second Timothy, with its rich and unique challenges, will be the principal text and Earl F. Palmer will be the main instructor. Select individuals will serve to respond after each session and time is planned for Q and A from the participants. Session topics will include:

  • The Case for Exposition
  • Remembering and Doing, II Timothy 1:1-14
  • Balance and Clear Vision, II Timothy 1:15-2:19
  • The Faithful Presence of Teaching, II Timothy 2:20-3:17
  • In Season and Out of Season, II Timothy 4:1-22
  • Exposition in Worship Through Music
  • Jesus the Teacher, Matthew 21:28-30
