What is the diaconate and how is it relevant tot he Church\’s minsitry? Beginning with the diaconate as presented in the New Testament, this course will look at how the office has changed over the years. We will focus on how the diaconatefits into the life of the Episcopal Church today, and on the many different ways in which people recongize and fulfill their calling to be deacons.
Rod is Dean of the School for Deacons in the Diocese of California. He has served as a missionary in Japan and for many years had a career in the business world. Rod holds a PhD in political science from Duke University.
