The Art of Transition: Interim Ministry Training – G17S111
Are you intrigued by the challenges of transitional ministry? Explore skills, personal traits, and commitments leading to effectiveness in the interim ministry specialty. Take time to discern whether interim ministry is for you and begin to prepare for this ministry. Learn to assist the congregation to address ecumenically recognized interim developmental tasks: coming to terms with history; shifts in leadership; rethinking denominational linkages; discovering a new identity; and commitment to new pastoral leadership and a new future.
Participants will work individually and in groups to begin crafting accountability plans for spiritual growth and self-care practices to ensure healthy, balanced and joyful ministry over the long haul. Come and join us!
This course is Week 1 (of 2) of Art of Transitional Ministry, taught through the Transitional Ministry Educational Consortium of the PC(USA) and is open to all clergy and congregational leaders of any denomination. The curriculum includes the basics of Interim Ministry theory, family systems theory, church conflict, and contracting.
