This weekend, we will enter the Advent season of peace with Nobel Peace Prize nominee and author John Dear, reflecting on the Advent texts which invite us to prepare ourselves to welcome the nonviolent Jesus into our lives and the coming of “peace on earth.” John will offer reflections on the witness of Mary and Joseph of Nazareth and John the Baptist, as well as the Isaiah texts of Advent and the life of the nonviolent Jesus that we are preparing for. It will be a time of peace, renewal, prayer, reflection, Bible study, discussion and Advent preparation. Join us for a weekend of peace as we pray and sing together, “O Come, O Come Emmauel!”

Rev. John Dear, S.J. is a Jesuit priest, peace activist, organizer, lecturer, retreat leader, and author/editor of 20 books on peace and nonviolence, including “Living Peace”, published by Doubleday.
