Have you ever noticed that the great hymn, “I Love to Tell the Story,” doesn’t actually tell the story of Jesus? It just refers to the story “of Jesus and his love.” See, there was a time when all the church needed to do was refer to the story, because we could assume that everyone in the culture basically knew the story. That world is gone. What then? It is obvious: The church must re-learn how to tell the story to
