Speaking the Word Freely, with Rev. Jerry Larson, is the tried and true Process Preaching system enabling pastors and others to deliver sermons freely without reading a manuscript or speaking off the cuff. Speaking freely is such a powerful way of communicating that it literally can wake people up. Why does speaking freely communicate so much better in an oral setting than reading out loud or reciting a memorized text? Here are some of the most important reasons this is true.

Leader:
Jerome F. Larson served as a parish pastor for thirty-nine years in rural, small town, and suburban congregations. Since completing his Doctor of Ministry degree at Luther Seminary, he has taught Process Preaching in the Kairos Continuing Education Program both at Luther and at Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center in Carefree, Arizona.
In 2014 the Process Preaching title is changed to “Speaking the Word Freely” – which is the title of Jerry’s book on this method of speaking. It’s also an invitation to not just clergy, but those who may speak often to large groups, conventions, etc.
This is the 9th year Spirit in the Desert has held this very popular class!

Class Requirement: You must bring a sermon manuscript you are currently working on.
