2015 Conference:

Social Media and the Church

Feb 27-March 1, 2015 at Lake Junaluska
Conference Center near Asheville, NC

Meredith Gould, author of The Social Media Gospel: Sharing the Good News in New Ways and The Word Made Fresh: Communicating Church and Faith Today, will be the featured speaker for our ALLLM gathering on February 27 – March 1 at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina.  Describing herself as a “sociologist and digital strategist,” Meredith learned graphic design and typography at Rochester Institute of Technology holds a PhD in sociology from Queens College, CUNY, and has served as a consultant on social media and communications for health care networks, mission-based organizations, congregations, and judicatories of numerous denominations (by her own admission, she has “multiple spirituality disorder” and plays well ecumenically) and is one of those rare individuals who thinks deeply about the theology, sociology, and psychology of our new media milieu.

More information on the schedule and topics for Meredith’s time with us will become available over the next few months (as she notes, “the world of social media and virtual community will have morphed a slew of times before we get to 2015”), but I encourage you to pick up a copy of The Social Media Gospel and join the conversation. In fact, if you have comments and questions on the book that you’d like to pass on to me at [email protected], we’d be happy to put them into the mix as we plan our time together.
