Rising Strong™ Cultivating a Daring Spirit

For over five decades, sojourners have ventured forth deep into the paradoxical majesty of the desert that is Ghost Ranch to quench their creative and spiritual thirst. In celebration of this endless quest, we are excited to introduce a new retreat experience at Casa del Sol based upon the concepts behind Brené Brown’s ground-breaking research on courage, vulnerability, authenticity and shame resilience. Beth Dunwody, certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, leads as participants cultivate a common language with which to share their diverse experiences.
For seven days, Casa del Sol will become our “one small place” for Rising Strong™ Cultivating a Daring Spirit-to be our authentic selves, to connect, to belong, to explore, to create and to play as we strive to cultivate the daring spirit required to live more wholehearted lives at home, at work, in our places of worship and in the world.
The goal of the Rising Strong™ process is to rise from our falls, overcome our mistakes, and face hurt in a way that brings more wisdom and wholeheartedness. The core of the process involves:
- The Reckoning: Walking into our Story-Getting Curious
- The Rumble: Owning our Story-Getting Honest with Ourselves
- The Revolution: Process Becomes Practice-Writing our own New Ending
In this extended version of this course, delve more deeply into the 10 Guideposts for Wholehearted Living- focusing on further developing shame resilience skills and daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead with plenty of time for rest, relaxation and play!

Please note that our workshop price structure packages your tuition, course materials, lodging and meals together in a single rate. Prices are presented for each of the types of lodging available for the workshop you select. All rates are Per Person, Double Occupancy unless otherwise specified.
Single Occupancy: Single occupancy rooms may be reserved for an additional $50 per night when space is available. The fee will be charged when space is confirmed. Single occupancy lodging is generally not available during June and July. If you are a single person and do not specify a roommate, a roommate of the same gender will be assigned to share your lodging space or you can request the single occupancy and be charged the supplement of an additional $50 per night (based on availability).
