Theme – Peregrinations pro Christo
Participants will be invited into the call of wandering in search of the Christ in the world. We will delve into the concept of pilgrimage as an openness to being led by the Divine in our wandering search. Like St. Columbanus and other Irish monks of his time who might have declared that they would “rove to rest”, we will explore the idea of pilgrimage, in itself, as a spiritual homecoming.
As part of the Canadian School of Celtic Consciousness program, we offer quarterly events for those attending or have attended our annual July program. John Philip has suggested these gatherings as a means to build on the experience and learning of the annual three-day schools; and to nurture study, spiritual practice, community and action. That being said, if you have not yet attended the School of Celtic Consciousness, and would like to attend the quarterly events, please register and plan to join us.
The quarterly gathering can include an overnight ‘mini-retreat’. Guests can arrive the evening before the event, stay overnight in our Main Building in single or shared rooms. There is time to slow down, read or journal by the fire, meditate or pray in our interfaith prayer space, or go for a walk in the forest. The Gathering takes place between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm (check-in between 9:30 and 9:45, then 10 minutes of silence together before beginning). You can also just come for the day and not include an overnight.
The dates of our Quarterly Gatherings for 2019-2020 are:
February 18th, 2020 (Peregrinations pro Christo)
May 5th,2020 (Thin Places with our Anam Cara)
If you would like to extend your stay and add an additional overnight, please contact Five Oaks at [email protected]
