During this week-long session, participants will explore the prophetic books of Ezekiel, Micah, Zechariah and Jeremiah, seeking to discern how each of these prophets sees the world, grounded in their spiritual experience depicted in the texts. Our focus will be on the spiritual awareness of these ancient teachers, and how this shaped their views of the social and political worlds of their own time. We will practice applying these prophetic ways of seeing to our own lives, work environments and current social and political realities. There will be time for group analysis, individual explorations of texts, meditations and practical applications. Fresh ways to read biblical texts will help us to combine spiritual growth, theological reflection and empowerment for action in the social and political realms.
