PREPARE/ENRICH is one of the most widely used tools for working with couples preparing for marriage and married couples wanting to improve their relationships. In addition to learning about the different types of couples, participants will learn how to provide feedback to couples on their strength and growth areas, their couple and family maps and their respective personality profiles. With the aid of written PREPARE/ENRICH materials and online videos, as well as fun exercises and small and large group discussions, participants will explore tools for improving couple communication and conflict resolution, among other topics. Within two to three weeks after completing the workshop, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion, as well as a unique facilitator number and a free scoring credit.
This one-day training will be offered online via Zoom by The Rev. Dr. Allison St. Louis, a clinical psychologist, spiritual director, Episcopal priest, and PREPARE/ENRICH trainer. Dr. St. Louis served on the VTS faculty from 2010-2019. She currently serves as an affiliate faculty member, and she is the founder of the Center for Healing and Hope in Hellam, PA ( www.forhealingandhope.com). A licensed psychologist (VA and PA) and trained spiritual director, Dr. St. Louis provides pastoral psychotherapy, spiritual direction, retreats and workshops to lay and ordained leaders as well as to members of the wider community.
Dr. St. Louis holds Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Clinical Psychology from Howard University as well as a Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Theological Seminary.
