This course will explore the relationship between Christianity and power from the rise of Constantine the Great to the refugee crisis in Europe. The English Reformation will be explored from an Anglican and Catholic perspective with a viewing of key documents in the Vatican Secret Archive.  The great mosaics of Ravenna will provide the backdrop to discussion of the Orthodox and Byzantine world.
Course fee €650 (which includes travel and accomodation in Ravenna – although, as with all our courses, not in Rome.)
