You are warmly invited to join us at Regent College for the 2020 Laing Lectures. University of Nottingham’s Dr. John Milbank will deliver three lectures on the theme of “Most Entanglings: The Trinity as the Root of All Being.”

In this series, Dr. Milbank will explore one of the theoretical foundations of Radical Orthodoxy, an ongoing theological movement tracing its origins to Milbank’s landmark work, Theology and Social Theory: Beyond Secular Reason. In response to the modern tendency to distance God from creation, Milbank will attempt to re-ignite the traditional view that the properties of creation owe their ongoing existence and operation to the Creator. Dr. Milbank will isolate three realities each of us encounters every day—time, motion, and mystery—teasing out how each finds its roots in the Trinity.

What is the fruit of this endeavour? That our day-to-day life can lead us into more constant awareness and wonder at the ever-present reality of our Triune God.

March 10: The Trinity and Time

March 11: The Trinity and Motion

March 12: The Trinity and Mystery

If you are unable to join us in person, you can watch the lectures live at 7:30 pm PST nightly via a live videostream.

All lectures will take place from 7:30 to 9 pm in the Regent College Chapel. The event is free of charge and entry is first-come, first-served up to capacity.
