Enjoy studio and outdoor sessions while you learn about Georgia O’Keeffe’s art and life from someone who served as her weekend companion. Art lessons focus on composition and color. Start with an exercise from O’Keeffe’s teacher Arthur Wesley Dow that influenced her. Try another prescribed by O’Keeffe herself. Visit sites that inspired O’Keeffe, feel the spirit of the place, and create your own response to it. Experiment with materials. Take home your own unique creations inspired by O’Keeffe’s favorite subjects, her art, and her artistic philosophy, but reflecting your aesthetic and spirit. All skill levels welcome. Ability to walk at least one mile on an uneven path required for one optional excursion.
“My week with Anna was transformative. I took the class because of her background and credentials, however what I received was so much more. Her sincere interest in us as artists, coupled with the majesty of landscape transported me to a place of grounding, confidence and passion for the power of creativity.” — Susan Thompson, High School Principal

Lessons from Georgia O’Keeffe’s Art, Life, Landscape is open to participants of all skill levels, from those with no previous art experience to accomplished artists.
