Lenten Quiet Day for Associates, Oblates and Friends Discipleship in Mark: a Lenten path

It is reported that on his way to Rome to be martyred, Ignatius said, ‘Now I am beginning to be a disciple.’ All of our Lenten self-improvement disciplines miss the point if they do not take into account the truth that the path of Jesus leads to a cross.
On this Lenten Quiet Day we will explore what discipleship looks like in the Gospel of Mark. Through a meditation on the last week of our Lord’s life, and aided by art, the testimony of other disciples, and the Eucharist, we shall consider the relationship between being a follower of Jesus Christ and martyrdom.
And we shall ask ourselves, ‘What does it mean to die with him?’
Led by Bishop Stephen Andrews, Principal of Wycliffe College.
- Begins 9:30 am with a gathering for coffee; ends 4 pm.
- Fee $30 ($25 for Associates and Oblates) if you bring a bag lunch. A hot meal is an additional $15.
