Labyrinth Walk

Join us Sunday afternoons from 2:30-4:30pm on the following dates:
February 28
March 6
April 10

An afternoon to unwind, connect with your inner self and reflect on your life journey.

The labyrinth is a pattern that is found in all areas of the world dating back to ancient times. Its circular shape and winding path has significant application as a metaphor for wholeness and health as well as reflection on life as a meandering journey with changes and transitions. When walking the labyrinth it can become a meditative tool and a time of connection with the Divine. Research has shown that walking the labyrinth reduces stress and promotes relaxation.

Join us at Five Oaks to experience this spiritual practice. We have both an indoor canvas labyrinth and an outdoor labyrinth. In the winter or if it is raining heavily then we will be indoors. In warmer months we will walk outdoors, so please dress accordingly.

This afternoon experience will consist of a brief overview of the labyrinth in order to orient anyone new to this practice. There will be significant time dedicated to walking and personal time to reflect on the experience before we close together with a group ritual.

Facilitation:

Robin McGauley is a Veriditas Certified Labyrinth Facilitator, a retreat leader, artist, labyrinth creator, spiritual director, ordained minister and Program Director at Five Oaks Education and Retreat Centre. After graduating with a post-graduate certificate in Expressive Arts at Fleming College in 2011 she has been an instructor in the program, inviting others to delve deeply into their inner life of spiritual exploration.
