Journey Toward Wholeness: A Courage & Renewal Retreat® – October 2016
Based on the work of author Parker J. Palmer, this Courage & Renewal® retreat explores how we can be present to ourselves, deeply and more fully as we experience issues of transition, relationship shift, aging, changes in direction and questions about vocation to live in alignment with our deepest values. In a nurturing and peaceful environment, the retreat provides quiet and invitational space to reflect on our inner and outer values, in a setting of extraordinary natural beauty. Retreat leaders will use poetry, prose, music and movement to support the retreat work and offer many opportunities to explore the stunning beauty of the high desert.
In this retreat, you will savor daily contemplative practices and enjoy periods of quiet time, journaling and self-reflection in conjunction with large and small group discussions. Clearness Committees, a Quaker communal process for individual discernment, is the capstone of the retreat. Off-ranch trips are planned. Exhale deeply and relax at a nearby mineral springs (at an extra fee), enjoy an afternoon of Gregorian chant at Christ in the Desert Monastery and visit the weavers of Medanales to explore local culture. Limited to 15 participants.
