Phase I: Course Description & Registration Information
Accreditation: AIA and CCPC (for AGC–Associate Gambling Counsellor in Canada) ; ICRC/AODA (US) 30 hours

Treating Victims of Compulsive Gambling is a four day workshop designed to provide an interesting and informative presentation on the nature of and recovery from compulsive gambling. The courseware package, “Treating Victims” has been specifically modeled to follow the core functions of addiction counsellors as recommended by the Addiction Intervention Association (AIA).

The registration for the seminar is limited, so do not delay your registration. The fee is $500.00 Canadian Dollars. A deposit of $100.00 should be sent along with your registration and the balance is due on arrival. There is a 5% discount for early registrations.

Persons who will find it necessary to withdraw from the course prior to the start of the course may have their fees refunded in full, except for a $50.00 service charge. Refunds for withdrawals during the course will be on a per diem basis plus $25.00.

Phase II: Course Description & Registration Information

Accreditation: AIA and CCPC (for AGC–Associate Gambling Counsellor in Canada) ; ICRC/AODA (US) 30 hours

“Treating the Problem Gambler” – Advanced Course is normally intended for those who have graduated from Phase I and who seek to attain certification in Canada or credit in the United States as a Certified Gambling Counsellor (CGC).

The course builds upon and elaborates Phase I, but it also introduces new material and topics as well as provide guidance for the development professional research skills. Persons who received certification as a Gambling Counsellor prior to the development of current standards may wish to take this course as continuing education. The courseware package, “Gambling and Addiction” has been specifically modeled to follow the core functions of addiction counsellors as recommended by the Addiction Intervention Association (AIA).
