How would Jesus have wanted to be remembered? That’s the question.
What got him out of bed every day? What did he want people to see and believe? How did he want them to act? What did he think blocked people from seeing and believing what he saw and believed? What was the heart of his teaching that could make the world a better place? What was he ready to die for? What are the most important aspects of his life and teaching that we must remember and put into practice if we want a better world today?
These are the question to be explored if we are to remember Jesus as he would have wanted to be remembered.
For two thousand years the Christian religion has remembered Jesus primarily in the context of a God who denied access to Himself. Jesus did not minister to people within that context. Our task is to remember rightly what his minister was really about.
Michael Morwood is the author of 10 books on spirituality. One of his major themes in lecturing and writing is the need to interpret Jesus in light of his actual teaching and in light of contemporary understanding of how the Divine Presence is ,and always has been, everywhere and always active throughout the universe and in the human endeavor.
