Michael Shapcott is Executive Director of the Sorrento Centre, an ordained deacon in the Anglican Church of Canada and recognized as one of Canada’s leading community-based housing and homelessness experts. Michael has developed hundreds of units of affordable housing, worked at street-level with people who are homeless and for more than a decade led the affordable housing practice at the Wellesley Institute think-tank. He is a founding director of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness and co-author, with Jack Layton, of “Homelessness: How to End the National Crisis.”
