Is caring for earth something for tree-huggers and environmentalists?  Or is it something deeply woven into Christian faith?

This class taking place during Epiphany looks at the Apostles Creed as a spiritual resource – and as an inspiration to care for the earth.  This class offers an opportunity for everyday Christians to dig deeper into the Creed as a way to enrich their lives of prayer, worship, and service, and anyone who uses the Creed for teaching or confirmation classes will find tools for forming disciples.

At the same time, the class shows the relevance of the Creed to the rest of God’s good creation:  how the Son drew alongside all creatures in his Incarnation; how God is Father not just to humans but all creatures; and how the Spirit testifies to God’s concern for the whole world.  In addition to lectures, the class features discussion an “homework” in the form of reflection and contemplative prayer.  The class is also keyed to Epiphany Season, so that participants will find immediate connections to the church’s liturgy in this season.

This course will be conducted weekly on Zoom. A link for the Zoom classes is available on the course website once you register for the course.
