This course is a study of the life and times of Jesus as described in the Gospel of Matthew. Students will carefully read Matthew’s Gospel and gain an appreciation for how the Gospel was crafted in light of its Jewish and Graeco-Roman context. The student will also be asked to consider a number of Jesus’ teachings in light of contemporary culture and learn new ways of incorporating the content of the Gospel into ministry and culture.
