Unless people in parishes have business backgrounds where CEO-like leadership was required most are not prepared with the knowledge or acumen necessary to ensure sensitivity, awareness and accountability for the processes surrounding sound financial management and protection of church assets. Leadership is the key to successful implementaion, and it is often a learned attribute. This learning series uses real-life examples and exericses to illustrate the awareness and leadership necessary.

James is a CPA who has performed over 200 audits on churches. Prior to his retirement from IBM, he was the founder of the Learning Center of Excellence, a global think tank on adult learning, and was the founder and worldwide practice leader of the IBM Leadership and Management Development consulting practice for IBM Global Services. He is certified in structured curriculum and course design through Vanderbilt University and has an Executive MBA from Emory University in Atlanta. James is currently writing a book, \”Financial Management for Parishes\”, to be released in the fall by Morehouse Publishing, Inc.
