Discerning God’s Mission: Trust-Building and Collaborative Leadership for Collective Insight

June 15-Dec. 31, 2017 Leadership

This course prepares church leaders for navigating congregations through collective discovery of God’s intent for their church. Trust is fundamental for teamwork. Collaborative leadership best represents the Trinitarian expression of God in congregation discernment and action. The result is effective ministry aligned with God’s will.

Three distinct sections of the course introduce basic concepts, develop collegiality and accountability and tailor learning to participant’s specific settings:

  • June 15-Sept. 15: Distance learning online
  • Sept. 18-22: Group week training at Luther Seminary
  • Sept. 25-Dec. 31: Individualized learning project with one-on-one coaching

This course is for pastors and lay leaders who desire intentional, deeper connections of congregations to God’s purposes, for pastors training for transitional ministry, for leaders of congregations in a rut and wanting to discover anew God’s purpose for their church and for leaders seeking renewed enthusiasm for ministry.
