Contemplation in Action: A January Retreat

January 25, 2015 - January 27, 2015
WashingtonDC
USA

Sunday, January 25 — Tuesday, January 27, 2015
Contemplation in action defines the spiritual life—one journey inseparably living at the center and leading from within.

The spiritual journey is both still and active. It is a journey inward, to the essential unity at the center of our being.  There, sustained by an unambiguous intent for silence and solitude, simple open presence steeps in the deep love of God.  This finds expression as an overflowing river of love, flowing outward to tend the dream of God.  The inward and outward flow together as one.

This January, in the winter season of stillness and fallow ground, come join the Shalem staff on retreat.  In this sacred community, we will rest in the holiness of silence and contemplative prayer. Together we will explore new possibilities of wakefulness, discernment and breakthrough in present-moment awareness.

For the divine alchemy to work,
The Pitcher needs a still cup.
