Christian Foundations
September 10, 2016 – May 6, 2017
The Christian Foundations course is an introduction to the good news of the gospel and an overview of the Bible, church history, key Christian beliefs, and core practices of the faith. The material is delivered over 9 full Saturdays, spread out from September to May. It has been designed for people without any prior Christian education. Each day will explore a different focus question; facilitated through the reading of narrative-based material and interactive exercises. Participants who have completed this program will be able to facilitate the course in their own church settings.
Guiding the writing of Christian Foundations were the following goals:
- That the primary focus be the Triune Living God made known in Jesus Christ
- that the Scriptures shape the content and be pointed to for further reading and study
- that an adult learning model include narratives, time-lines & maps, self-quizzes, and interactive exercises
- that transformation, rather than simply information, be highlighted in reflection exercises and prayers
Registration for the September 2016 term ends on August 1st, 2016.
