Dates: March 11, 2013 – March 17, 2013 Price: $350

In the Celtic tradition the relationship between the people and the land is sacred; they belong to each other and are extensions of each other. This relationship forms a sacred mirror wherein the cycles and mysteries of life are reflected back to source. Life sees itself and witnesses it’s own beauty. In the process we are healed and made whole. Ghost Ranch provides a mystical setting in which to explore this relationship and reconnect with our own belonging. Through poetry, music, shared experience and most importantly, time alone on the land, we will have the opportunity to reawaken our senses and imagination and hear once more the voice of our own soul.

Instructor(s)

Gerry Aylward has an M. Div and M. A in Spirituality from Loyola Univ. Chicago and an M. S in Orthodontia from Northwestern Univ. He has trained in nature based retreat work with the Animas Valley Institute and continues to immerse himself in this.  He has led workshops and retreats on the following topics: The Human Soul and the Natural World, The Wholeness of God – integrating the Masculine and the Feminine, Grief – dealing with loss, Relationships –  our deepest joy and our greatest pain,  The Shadow – Hidden Treasure, Celtic Wisdom.

He has worked with mens groups for many years giving talks and leading retreats, notably: The Sacred Feminine and the Male journey, Sexual Addiction. He  grew up in Dublin Ireland where the Celtic and Christian traditions were blended and woven into the fabric of life.  This highly combustible mix of rigid Christian orthodoxy and wild indigenous Celtic earthiness often let to tension, but when one took time to look underneath the apparent differences what became visible was the mythic thread that lies at the heart of all spirituality.

Gerry is an avid musician and lives with his wife Linda in Chicago.  They have been married for twenty five years and have a daughter who works in advertising as a copywriter.
