Guided Retreat: Friday-Sunday, September 28-30, 2012
Our human and environmental crises are urgent, and we need each other’s support to shift the way we look at and live in the world on a mass scale. Join us in creating a new way forward for the entire human family.
The Awakening The Dreamer Symposium inspires and educates participants around the world to particpate in bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilling world.
Thought-provoking, challenging, and deeply moving, the Symposium is a dynamic multimedia presentation drawing on some of the most respected social, scientific and spiritual leaders of our time, interwoven with wisdom and inspiration from our indigenous partners.
With informative videos and guided personal reflection exercises, the Symposium experience reaches deeply into both the heart and mind. Many of the Symposium’s video segments are educational and informative, providing insight into how our modern worldview and economic and political systems are preventing us from creating the world in which we want to live.
However, knowledge should empower us, and never leave us in frustration or despair. Group interaction exercises and guided personal reflection give participants the tools to move past anxiety or anguish to a place of empowerment.
Unique weekend format: Many have experienced the Awakening the Dreamer workshop in its usual 3-4 hour timeframe. This retreat will be unique in that it will be set in the spaciousness of a weekend and will be grounded in a spiritual focus with time for personal prayer and reflection in a lovely setting.
We will begin on Friday evening with telling the creation story as told in the lovely ritual of Cosmic Walk. On Saturday evening there will be a showing of the very fine new film Journey of the Universe featuring and created by Brian Swimme and a team from Yale University.
