A Lotus in the Desert: Yoga and the Monastic Life

Tuesday, October 3- Friday, October 6, 2017

Led by David Robles, E-RYT

Join us for an in-depth discussion of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, a cornerstone text in yogic asceticism and meditation, with an eye towards similar traditions in the west. Explore not only the background of the yoga tradition but the origins of western monasticism as we compare the teachings of Patanjali with the Desert Fathers, uncovering their commonalities and differences. Open to all, this retreat also provides the necessary 10 contact hours for yoga teachers looking to meet their continuing education requirements. This retreat also provides the necessary 10 contact hours for yoga teachers looking to meet their continuing education requirements.
