PARABLES RETREAT
October 2 9:00 am – October 3 3:00 pm, 2018
Jesus’ parables are not intended to be a rarefied study nor are they merely monologues to be heard and accepted without reflection! Justice is at the center of Jesus’ spirituality;; his ministry is therefore, rightfully concerned with politics & economics, with living wages and workers’ rights, with uncovering the hidden corruptions of the ruling system, and so much more. Come together with friends to reflect on Jesus’ parables as subversive speech! Come and see that matters of justice are not peripheral to Jesus’ spiritual gospel, but are at the heart of his proclamation and practice. Come and see the parables’ implication for our contemporary life. With friends, reflect on our shared understanding of communal action for justice!
Private Room Fee: $104. Commuter Fee: $70. Registration deadline is September 25.
