According to St. John of the Cross, listening is God’s first language. In the fast-paced culture we live in, speaking has become our first language. We spend hours preparing to speak but little time towards listening. This workshop focuses on the power of Sacred Listening–the art of becoming a listening presence. As we open up to listening as a spiritual practice, we find it transforms our relationships, nurtures our inner voice and inspires our spiritual growth.

Kay Lindahl has been described as an inspired presence with passionate energy. For the past twenty years the daily practice of Centering Prayer has been transforming her life. She founded The Listening Center with the mission of exploring the sacred nature of listening. Kay conducts workshops and retreats on listening as a spiritual practice. She is a Certified Listening Professional.
According to Kay, “The cultural and religious diversity of our communities calls for a way of listening that transcends words and belief systems. Learning to truly listen to one another is the beginning of new understanding and compassion, which deepens and broadens our sense of community.”
Kay is the author of The Sacred Art of Listening, Practicing the Sacred Art of Listening and How Does God Listen? published by SkyLight Paths Publishing, The Art of Dialogue and Centering Prayer in The Diversity of Centering Prayer, published by Continuum Press and Listening in In Times Like These, published by Church Publishing Incorporated. She also co-edited Women, Spirituality and Transformative Leadership: Where Grace Meets Power published by SkyLight Paths Publishing.
Please note that our 2015 workshop price structure packages your tuition, course materials, lodging and meals together in a single rate. Prices are presented for each of the types of lodging available for the workshop you select. All rates are Per Person, Double Occupancy unless otherwise specified.
Single Occupancy: Single occupancy rooms may be reserved for an additional $50 per night when space is available. The fee will be charged when space is confirmed. Single occupancy lodging is generally not available during June and July. If you are a single person and do not specify a roommate, a roommate of the same gender will be assigned to share your lodging space or you can request the single occupancy and be charged the supplement of an additional $50 per night (based on availability).
