Retreat: 8-Day Silent, Directed Be Still & Know That I Am God (2013)
Oct 25 to Nov 3
Much more than the absence of noise – the practice of entering Silence is a powerful way to reconnect with our most authentic selves and enter into an ever-expanding communion with the Holy. This contemplative retreat offers a time to deepen your spiritual journey in an atmosphere of prayerful silence. We “fast’ from conversation, work, outside influences and communications – not as challenge but as gift! Spiritual practice (movement, chant, centering prayer) is offered each morning while each evening ends with community Vespers in the chapel. There’s an hour of individual spiritual direction each day and the community of retreatants comes together for meals in silence. This is an intentional silence – a practice of presence – that opens us to the Presence. “In an era in which people are reeling from busyness and a deluge of electronic information, silent retreats offer a path back to the natural rhythms of the body, mind and spirit. To stillness.” – Douglas Todd, The Sound of Silence in The Vancouver Sun July 17, 2010
This retreat most often sells out. Maximum 16 retreatants each year.
