Led by The Reverend Martin Smith
Friday, March 1 to Sunday, March 3, 2013
In this silent retreat we will seek the courage of the blind man who asked Jesus to let him see. Learning from the ancient discipline of the ‘four senses of scripture’, we will explore the call to look and gaze as we go on our way, and the gift of insight into the subtle action of grace in our lives. We will pray about the ways in which we are willfully turning a blind eye to God’s presence, and look forward to the mysterious resurrection promise that we are destined to ‘see God.’
Martin L. Smith is an Episcopal priest widely known as a retreat leader and spiritual teacher, and for his books on contemporary spirituality, including A Season for the Spirit, The Word is Very Near You, Compass and Stars, Love Set Free and Reconciliation. His latest book, written with Julia Gatta, is Go in Peace: the Art of Hearing Confessions.
