Formation and Training Program is scheduled to begin with classes being held over the period November 2012 through March 2014. Note: The Spiritual Journey is a prerequisite for this program. Certificate awarded at completion of the program.
Participants who apply and are accepted in the program will travel to Ghost Ranch for four, on-week residential intensives (two separate weeks each year). An experienced staff of distinguished spiritual directors will facilitate sessions using presentations, role-plays, discussions, demonstrations, spiritual practices, contemplative exercises and prayer. The Stillpoint program is noted for engagement and is a practicum.
We practice the art of spiritual direction with hours of practice with participants and staff so that graduates may experience and perfect their gifts in being spiritually present to others. Participants find that their lives change as their gifts of deep listening and presence emerge.
Applicants must complete a written application, submit two personal/spiritual references and be available for a telephone ingterview with Stillpoint staff.

November 12-19, 2012 Week 1 – Cohort 3 begins
This program begins in November with classes being held over the period beginning November 2012 and ending in March 2014. Sessions are scheduled for November 12-19, 2012; March 11-18, 2013; October 21-28, 2013; and March 9-17, 2014.

(Note that this programs run Monday to Monday. Shuttle departs Santa Fe Sage Inn to Ghost Ranch at 4:00p.m. on arrival date. Depart Ghost Ranch to Santa Fe Sage Inn at 10:00 a.m. on departure date).
Instructor (s): These highly experienced spiritual directors/companions will facilitate the class: Karen Basquez, Vickie Garrison, Christopher McCauley and Ravi Verma
Karen Basquez is a retired special education teacher and spiritual director and serves on both the California and Ghost Ranch faculty of Stillpoint: The Center for Christian Spirituality. She is a facilitator and trainer for the Samaritan Woman Retreat.
Rev. Judith Favor is a seasoned spiritual director, ordained in the United Church of Christ, and teaches at Stillpoint and the Claremont School of Theology. She worships with Quakers, is a grandmother, and lives with spouse Pete Nelson in community at Pilgrim Place, Claremont, California.
Vicky Garrison is a spiritual director and facilitator of Stillpoint’s Art of Spiritual Direction and Formation Training Program in southern California. She is a retired Deaf Education Teacher and private consultant for special needs children and families. Vickie is a contemplative with a strong interest in meditation and healing. Midwifery of the spirit is her passion.
Christopher McCauley is the Executive Director, Stillpoint: The Center for Christian Spirituality, in Pasadena, California. He is also a spiritual director, worships in the Episcopal Church, and leads interfaith pilgrimages. Christopher is a member of the coordinating Council of Spiritual Directors International, the first global learning network of spiritual directors in history.
Ravi Verma is a spiritual director and has worked rofessionally with churches and lay leaders for over twenty-five years. Ravi’s passion is to work ith individuals and groups to build bridges etween parts of ourselves, with others and the osmos based on our connection to the Divine. avi, born in India, now teaches at Stillpoint, and orks with corporations, retreat centers, and on-profits on issues of spiritual development.
