PILGRIMAGE TO FRANCE

A SPIRITUAL FORMATION JOURNEY

Dates

Fall 2019; Exact dates TBD

September 19 – October 2, 2019

Overview

The capstone of the Spiritual Formation Certificate program is to go on pilgrimage, and we are excited to be designing a soul-captivating journey to Taizé and other destinations in France. Our journey together will be built around a historic perspective of monasticism. Pilgrims will stay overnight at several monastic communities and participatie in worship and meals with those who have been called to this service. Along the way we will learn, worship, reflect, and pray together. Pilgrimage will begin when the group gathers in Paris.

Leaders

Mary Lynn Callahan, Director of Spiritual Life Ministries and Taizé Minister, East Liberty Presbyterian Church, Pittsburgh, Pa. Many of you may know Mary Lynn from your Immersion Experience in the certificate program at PTS. What you may not be aware of is her pastoral and ministry background. During her 15 years of pastoring small churches, Mary Lynn discovered that her specific calling was in helping others to grow in their spiritual lives. Trained as a spiritual director in both the contemplative and Ignatian traditions, she is passionate about companioning people on their journey and providing opportunities for them to explore and deepen their relationships with themselves and with God. Through the Spiritual Life Committee at East Liberty Presbyterian Church, Mary Lynn offers programs that expand prayer lives and spiritual practices, organizes and ministers to the Taizé community, and is available for one-on-one spiritual direction.
