Pastoral Care with Youth (Neos)

Accompanying youth on their journey is both a gift and a challenge. Margot Feyerer, Warren Litt and Anne Miller will explore with participants the pastoral role of the youth leader, offer opportunity to practice the essential skills required for listening deeply and responding appropriately to young people in pastoral care situations and discuss topics such as exercising healthy boundaries, duty of care and self-care for pastoral ministry.

All people in paid accountable ministry, youth leaders and volunteers, will benefit from this program. You will come away with lots of resources and practical tools to put to use in your ministry with youth as well as meet a network of colleagues and friends.

 
Leadership:

The Reverend Warren Litt is an Interfaith Chaplain, employed with the Spiritual Care department at the London Health Sciences Centre; a United Church minister and teaching supervisor with Canadian Association of Spiritual Care.  His background includes experience in rural, urban and institutional ministry.

The Reverend Margot Feyerer is an Interfaith Chaplain, working as part of the Spiritual Care team at London Health Sciences Center.  Following her CAPPE/CASC training, she has served youth in a variety of settings, including group homes, correctional facilities, on campus and in a rural congregation.

Anne Miller is currently the Child, Youth and Young Families (CDM) at Dundas St. United Church in Woodstock. She has been involved in youth ministry in some form for 20 years and is passionate about the role of youth in the congregation and their unique gifts and needs. She looks forward to hearing stories of ministry from others and together finding faithful ways to minister with youth.
This program is a part of Five Oaks’ Neos: Youth Ministry Certificate Program. You do not have to be enrolled in the Certificate to attend.
