We are thrilled to welcome back Ross Nickerson and Friends for the Nova Scotia Banjo Camp at Tatamagouche Centre. For all levels of players, this camp experience will cover various banjo styles, individual consultations, group technical lessons (rhythm and timing, chords, basic backup, practice habits and priorities, and more), and many opportunities to jam with the faculty. Various skill levels will be accommodated in small-group activities and lessons. A great way to meet and play with other local musicians as well!
Program Cost: $395 ($ 237.50 tuition + $157.50 meals/accommodations)

Ross Nickerson
Ross Nickerson is a five-string banjo master, and author of The Banjo Encyclopedia, and Bluegrass Banjo From A to Z. He teaches internationally, and has appeared with the New Grass Revival, the Oak Ridge Boys, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Earl Scruggs, Bela Fleck, Bill Keith, Peter Seeger, and others. Russell Sawler
Russel Sawler is a Bluegrass Banjo instructor from the Maritimes, who also writes banjo instructional material. He has helped other artists like J.P. Cormier write musical instruction material.

Wilf Bean
Wilf Bean, Program Resource Group (PRG) facilitator. Wilf has a major interest is in transformational adult education for personal and community-based development. He has worked extensively overseas with the Coady International Institute, St Francis Xavier University, throughout Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. He also has a love of music ranging from folk, to bluegrass, spirituals,… you name it. And he has been known to pick away happily on his mandolin, guitar and banjo.
