National Restorative Justice Symposium 2016

Hosted by the Nova Scotia Restorative Justice Program, the Nova Scotia Department of Justice, and the Schulich School of Law

The province of Nova Scotia is taking a leadership role in convening this year’s National Restorative Justice Symposium. Nova Scotia has expanded the use of restorative justice to adults across the province, in public schools, and within the Human Rights Commission.

The National Symposium is an opportunity to convene a national gathering of practitioners, policy and lawmakers, researchers, and other experts and stakeholders, to consider and assess the innovative and transformative potential of restorative justice

This year will not follow the typical conference workshop format. Key speakers will be invited to contribute to set the stage for consideration of core issues, to be followed by facilitated dialogue circles. Bring your experience, your insights and your ideas to contribute to a renewed national vision of restorative justice in Canada.

  • Invited speakers and discussion themes will be confirmed and shared in the next few weeks.
  • Register now to be part of this important moment in the movement for restorative justice in Canada.

Please Note: In place of traditional workshop presentations all participants will play an active role in sharing their work and research within the dialogue circles. If you require a letter of invitation explaining the nature of this participation/presentation format to obtain permission to attend or access your institutional funding please contact the conference organizers.
