Leading Love

Friday, September 1 – Sunday, September 3, 2017

Led by Dr. Patrick B. Reyes

Our bodies carry the stories of our lives and experiences, which may be hidden, archived or ignored. The formation practices and frameworks provided over the course of two and a half days help you become aware of all that exists within, while learning to embrace love for your body, your story, your community and for others.

The retreat is designed for the community and institutional leaders, educators,  healers, or those searching for practices of communal discernment and transformation within themselves, institutions, and their communities. We will unearth the stories held in our bodies to discover how we might heal and lead our communities and institutions in life-giving work. You will walk alongside expert facilitators, who have years of experience working among communities of color suffering from systemic and interpersonal violence and designing programs of discovery and healing.

Dr. Patrick B. Reyes is a Latinx practical theologian, educator, administrator, and institutional strategist. He currently serves as the Director of Strategic Partnerships for Doctoral Initiatives at the Forum for Theological Exploration (fteleaders.org). His expertise is helping communities, organizations, and individuals excavate their stories to create strategies and practices that promote their thriving. He consults, speaks, and offers workshops for communities seeking to embody their vision of justice and peace.

He is the author of the book, Nobody Cries When We Die: God, Community, and Surviving to Adulthood (2016).
