COURSE DESCRIPTION: Over many hundreds of years oral and written material were brought together to form the Hebrew Bible, sometimes referred to as the Old Testament. This book has become a central text of Western civilization. The course will offer an overview of the Hebrew Bible, with emphasis given to both critical study and to interpretation from a Christian faith perspective.
